
We’d like to welcome you to the Denison High School Theatre Department, Thelma Braun Center for Fine Arts & Smith Auditorium.

Here at DHS, the Theatre Program offers classes to over 250 students including instruction in Theatre 1-4, Technical Theatre 1-4, Musical Theatre, Children’s Theatre, & Production Theatre. We are proud members of the International Thespian Society Troupe #6319 where we attend the Texas State Thespian Festival annually and often have national qualifiers for the International Thespian Festival. We also proudly represent our department by competing in the annual UIL One Act Play competition. Denison is honored to have advanced to the State Meet for OAP four times from 2010-2013 and were awarded the coveted Samuel French twice.

This year's season includes our fall musical "Finding Nemo Jr.", our fall Blackbox scene study "Almost, Maine", our spring children's production of "A Year with Frog & Toad Kids" which will travel to the local elementary schools, our UIL One Act Play is TBD, and finally our spring musical is also TBD. We hope to see you at the shows!

We are under the direction of Mr. Scott Timms & Mr. Matthew Schielack. Taylor Conklin is our Auditorium Manager for both the Smith & Eisenhower Auditoriums. Mrs. Sandy Mullens is the DHS Theatre Secretary. And we also have Mr. Hunter Sitz as our Vocal Director and Mrs. Christi Mitchel as our Choreographer.
